Local

Shop. Eat. Experience.

“Small businesses are the heartbeat of your neighborhood, the spine of your local economy, and the spirit of your town!” Where would Topeka be without all the local, small businesses that make up a large portion of our community?

Normally at this time of year, we would begin helping promote small business specials and pushing consumers to shop our local businesses all for one day, Small Business Saturday. After receiving feedback from our small business council and other Partnership members about the struggles of maintaining a workforce as well as keeping their shelves stocked, we made the switch to supporting our small business community year round, but especially during the holiday season. We’re calling this campaign “Shop Local. Eat Local. Experience Local” and will be promoted on a series of fronts.

There are many reasons to shop local, but one of our favorites is to support the dedicated people behind these thriving small businesses. You might just have the opportunity to learn more about each store’s owners and the visions they have for their business, and the Topeka community at large! Throughout the year – especially during the holidays and on Small Business Saturday (November 30, 2024) – remember to shop small and support local! The difference we can make together by each doing our part is substantial!’
