Ride With TopCity Pride

We are thrilled to announce the culmination of our collaborative efforts between the Greater Topeka Partnership and Forge Young Talent in bringing the Topeka flag license plates to fruition. After months of dedicated work, we are proud to share that starting in 2024, specially designed Topeka flag license plates approved by the State of Kansas are now available for purchase. This initiative marks a significant milestone in our commitment to showcasing community pride and identity.

The journey to making these plates available for Topeka-area residents began with the collection of signatures, a crucial step in demonstrating the interest and support for this initiative. Thanks to the enthusiasm and engagement of our community members, we quickly reached the required threshold of 250 signatures, paving the way for the production of these distinctive plates.

As you renew your vehicle registration, you now have the opportunity to proudly display your Topeka ties with these specially designed license plates. Each plate, priced at $50, not only serves as a symbol of our vibrant city but also contributes to supporting young professional and talent initiatives. Forge young professionals played a pivotal role in designing and adopting Topeka’s current flag design, making this initiative a natural fit for furthering our community’s growth and pride.

Rhett Flood, Forge’s executive director, aptly describes the significance of this endeavor: “This new Topeka flag license plate is more than just an accessory for vehicles. It is a declaration of support for our vibrant city and a sign that Topeka has come a long way in growing our community pride.”

We are grateful for the support and enthusiasm shown by our community throughout this process. Together, we are shaping a Topeka we can all be proud of. Let’s drive forward with pride and unity, one license plate at a time!
