MOORE SET TO EXPAND IN TOPEKA AREA, CREATING 60 NEW JOBS AND GENERATING $240 MILLION ECONOMIC IMPACT

Topeka, KS — Today, Topeka and Shawnee County’s Joint Economic Development Organization (JEDO) board approved an agreement that will aid in the expansion of Southwest Publishing & Mailing, a Moore company. As part of the expansion, the long-standing Topeka-based business, which has been providing printing services and direct mail production to customers for more than 50 years, has rebranded its local facility as Moore Digital Print & Mail Center – Topeka.

Previously referred to as “Project Oriole,” the expansion is expected to result in 60 new jobs, with Moore planning to make a capital investment of $31 million in the project. Economic development funds of up to $272,000, dispersed over five years, are being offered to the business through JEDO to aid in the company’s growth. With a projected local economic impact of $240 million over 10 years, the expansion is expected to result in a 246% return on investment for the community.

“We’re excited about the growth we’re experiencing and are eager to expand our presence in the Topeka community,” said Shane Hillmer, president of Moore Digital Print & Mail Center – Topeka. “This investment will help us build the Moore Digital Print & Mail Center – Topeka to meet the demands of a new era in data-driven direct mail production. Our upcoming expansion, along with the support we’ve received from JEDO and GO Topeka, will enhance our technology-enabled production center, which is powered by data and designed with sustainability in mind.”

“Moore’s Southwest Publishing has been a staple in this community for decades,” said Kevin Cook, Shawnee County Commission chair. “I’m pleased to see them expanding here at home, recognizing that Topeka/Shawnee County is a great place to run and grow a business. I have no doubts Moore will continue to invest in our community and make it even better.”

“I’m happy Moore sees the value in growing in, and with, Topeka,” said Mayor Mike Padilla. “They are a strong company with great employees and national reach. I know the business will continue to be an involved member of this community, adding to our robust local economy in meaningful ways.”

“We’re excited to have worked with Moore to ensure expansion is not just an option but a successful step into the future,” said Molly Howey, GO Topeka president. “This company is a true community partner. The jobs being created and investments made will help grow the Topeka-area economy and serve as an example of what’s possible when you choose Topeka.”

Moore’s investment in its Topeka facility is part of a larger strategic initiative, mirroring similar investments at other Moore Digital Print & Mail Centers across the country. As the largest marketing, data, and fundraising company in North America, Moore supports the purpose-driven industry, serving clients across various sectors, including nonprofit, education, associations, politics, and commercial.

“The Moore Digital Print & Mail Center – Topeka has been designed as a technology hub to optimize direct mail production. The facility offers envelope manufacturing, digital printing, and high-capacity workflow automation to streamline production and accelerate time to mailbox,” said Jeff Pelcher, CEO of Production at Moore. “We appreciate the support from JEDO and GO Topeka, which has been vital to our growth. We look forward to being an active part of the Topeka community for years to come and contributing to its continued economic success.”
